At least four people were injured in an exchange of gunfire between two miraa (khat) traders inside the airport in Las Anod, the capital of the Sool region, on Friday.
Gunfire erupted after traders bringing miraa from Kenya to the town clashed with the arrival of a plane landed at the town airport.
According to eyewitnesses, the plane was hit by several bullets and flew back from Las Anod.
The security agencies have not provided any additional information about this incident.
Kenya resumed khat exports to Somalia in July, a week after outgoing Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Somalia counterpart Hassan Mohamud agreed on reopening the border between the two countries to reopen the border between the two countries.
The two Presidents also agreed to ease the movement of people and enhance trade in goods and services.
