Title:Business Development Support Center (BDSC) assistant

Location:  Mogadishu, Somalia

Reports to:Business Development Coordinator

Contract Duration: November 2020

Overall purpose of the role:

As part of the DSP project intervention in Mogadishu, Somalia, assist overall BDSC activities at field sites and businesssupport center level.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Development Support Centre (BDSC) assistant will perform the following tasks and undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Assist performance of various DSP project tasks, like recording minutes during meetings and facilitate trainings sessions and workshops activities.
  • Operate phone, providing general information, taking messages and scheduling follow up appointments
  • Maintaining BDC calendar and scheduling of appointments;
  • Checking, stocktaking and ordering stationery periodically;
  • Assist in the facilitation and delivery of workshops, meetings, training sessions in the BSC centre and other partner inistituitions;
  • Assisst in the recording and preparation of results and minutes of meetings, business support seminars and trainings etc.;
  • Assisst the application process of the grant facility
  • Assisst the coordination of logistics activities related to travel, security and accomodation for workshops, seminers and events;

  • Assist provsion of technical support to BDSC visitors including IT support.
  • Supervising and monitoring of all DSP projectactivities as instructed by Business Development technical expert/associat constultant.
  • With technical assistance from the technical expert / Business Development Coordinator, maintain gender and conflict sensitiveissues, and other important cross-cutting issues in the project areas.
  • Assist collection of DSP project lessons, market informations, document , human interest stories informatio.
  • Mobilizing the project beneficaries to participate in the business development activities and awareness creation on ways to improve and handling of the business activities by creating sense of ownership forproject activities.
  • Perform any other relevant jobs assigned by the technical expert/Business Development Coordinator.


  • Diploma or bachelor’s Degree in in Business Adminstration, Business Management, Bussines information technology, agriculture, cooperative management, natural resource management and other related social science.
  • At least 2 years’ experience for degree and 3 years for diploma and preferable working in a fragile area.
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skill.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and Somali Language mandatory.
  • Computer skills, especially Microsoft Offices, excel Access, word, and e-mail systems (i.e. Outlook).
