A bomber riding in a rickshaw packed with explosives has detonated at small but busy cafe in Somalia’s war recovering seaside capital, Mogadishu on Thursday afternoon.

At least 8 people, including three government security force members have been wounded in the suicide attack that killed only the bomber, according to Mogadishu Mayor office.

The bomb attack occurred at tea-shop near Ali Kamin junction in Mogadishu’s Wardhigley district and no group or individual has claimed credit for the suicide blast.

Local authorities say Al shabaab who has in carried similar attacks in the past is behind the cafe bombing. Mogadishu security was tightened on Thursday due to a historic visit by UNSC ambassadors.

A witness said ambulances arrived the chaotic scene and have taken the wounded victims to nearby hospital, where they are currently being treated.
